Landscape Design Services
Thoughtful design, from the ground up.
Ecorhythm provides residential landscape design services throughout Vancouver, Washington, Clark and Cowlitz Counties, and the greater Portland, Oregon area.
Whether you’re starting with a new build, reimagining an established property, or simply need a clear plan for your planting and outdoor spaces, we approach each project by looking at the property as a whole.
Our goal is to create landscapes that are beautiful, functional, responsive to the site, and designed around the way you actually live.
Our Services
Residential Landscape Design
Comprehensive landscape design for new and existing homes. We consider the relationship between your home, outdoor living areas, plantings, circulation, views, and the natural conditions of your property to create one cohesive plan.
Design Consultations
Sometimes you don’t need a complete landscape plan—you need an experienced perspective.
A design consultation can help you explore possibilities, solve a specific landscape challenge, establish priorities, or determine the best direction for your property before moving forward.
Planting Plans
Thoughtful planting design based on your property’s conditions, desired aesthetic, maintenance preferences, and the Pacific Northwest climate.
Planting plans consider composition, scale, texture, seasonality, mature plant size, and the relationship between new and existing vegetation.
Plant Procurement + Select Installation
For appropriate projects, Ecorhythm can assist with sourcing plants and completing select planting and landscape installations.
Availability and scope are determined on a project-by-project basis.
Installation Support + Contractor Referrals
For projects requiring specialized construction or larger-scale installation, Ecorhythm can help connect you with trusted landscape contractors and other professionals appropriate for the project.
What's Included in a Full Landscape Design?
A successful landscape design begins long before plants and materials are selected.
We start by understanding both the property and the people who live there.
.01
Consultation + Site Analysis
Your property is assessed for conditions that will influence the design, including:
Sun and shade exposure
Soil condition and quality
Grade changes and slope patterns
Drainage and stormwater considerations
Existing mature trees and vegetation
Neighboring structures and infrastructure
Desirable views to preserve or emphasize
Unwanted views and privacy considerations
Circulation and access
Relationship between the home and landscape
These observations become the foundation for the design.
.02
Concept Plan
Following the site assessment and initial consultation, Ecorhythm develops your first concept plan.
This establishes the overall direction of the landscape, including spatial organization, circulation, outdoor living areas, major landscape elements, and planting concepts.
We’ll meet for approximately one hour to walk through the concept together, discuss the reasoning behind the design, and gather your feedback.
.03
Final Review + Next Steps
We’ll meet to review the completed design, answer questions, and discuss the next steps for bringing it to life—including plant procurement, select installation, or contractor referrals when appropriate.
Additional design work or revisions beyond the included scope are billed at $75/hour.
Looking for specific elements to include in your design? We provide the following services:
Patios
Pergolas
Pathways
Fences & Decks
Arbors
Retaining Walls
Rain Gardens and Bloswales
PNW Plantings

.04
Refinement + Final Design
Your feedback is incorporated into the design and the details are refined. The final design is developed as a detailed 2D computer-aided landscape plan, including the elements appropriate to your project.
Designed Around Your Life
There isn’t one type of Ecorhythm client—or one type of Ecorhythm landscape.
We work with homeowners who value thoughtful design and want to make a meaningful investment in their outdoor environment, from new construction and complete property designs to smaller landscapes that need a more considered approach.
We also believe good landscape design should not feel reserved for one type of home, neighborhood, or homeowner. Ecorhythm welcomes the opportunity to work with people and families from across the communities we serve.
What matters most is a willingness to collaborate and a desire to create an outdoor space that feels considered, functional, and distinctly yours.
